We are a group of individuals who feel passionate about changing the face of theatre in Baltimore.
Our mission is to create innovative theatre for the purpose of securing a new generation of theatre go-ers. As well as putting an emphasis on works that highlight the feminine perspective.
Here are two things that we know:
People do not get older and suddenly appreciate theatre. We are in an era that puts a huge amount of money into films and video games and other forms of electronic stimulation. As soon as the current theatre patrons pass away, theatre will die along with them. We hope to inspire new audiences to embrace one of the world's oldest forms of art.
Another thing we know....During the time of Shakespeare women were not even allowed to act onstage. Most of the well known, produced plays, have been written by men. Men still dominate the world of theatre, and it is few and far inbetween we get to see a play written from a woman's perspective. For too long women characters have been limited to whores and mothers. As far as we are concerned, the shift in perspectives is long overdue.
